Our au pair payroll service, PayLink, takes the hassle out of being an employer. We pay your au pair, calculate and pay the correct PAYE tax, and assist with all their sick and annual leave payments.
It’s simple – register as an employer with the IRD and pay your au pair’s gross wage into our Client Fund Service a week in advance. From there, we will calculate everything for you and pay your au pair directly. We can even help you manage your au pair’s completion bonus by spreading the cost over the placement term. You can save yourself a world of worry for only $12.00 per week (if we become your PAYE Intermediary).

Choosing us as your PAYE Intermediary
As your PAYE Intermediary, we’ll assist you in fulfilling your PAYE obligations as an employer. It also means we can act on your behalf for all of your PAYE responsibilities, as we’ll be able to liaise directly with the IRD. Families who allow us to become their PAYE Intermediary are subsidised $2.00 per week. While allowing us to become your PAYE Intermediary is optional, it is recommended.
Government Subsidies.
20 Hours ECE
When you join the Au Pair Link whānau you can access the 20 Hours ECE government subsidy, meaning an au pair is even more cost-effective than you may have previously thought!
To be eligible, your child must be over three and enrolled in one of our Ministry of Education licensed programmes. You cannot claim more than 6 hours per day or 20 hours per week. If your child attends more than one ECE service, you can split the hours claimed – as long as these hours don’t overlap or exceed 20 hours per week in total. The 20 Hours ECE subsidy is not means tested. You’ll need to fill in an Au Pair Link enrolment form and confirm the days and hours you are claiming the subsidy.
WINZ Subsidies
Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ) offer a number of subsidies to make quality childcare more accessible and affordable for eligible families. While we can’t apply for the subsidies on your behalf, we help manage the payments as an approved WINZ childcare provider while your children are in your au pair’s care.
